Bio

Jax Malenfant is an experimental, multidisciplinary  artist and animator currently studying at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.  Drawing upon his own experience as a transgender human, Jax focuses his work around themes of gender and queerness, working to both de-stigmatize and celebrate queer exsistance.  Originally from upstate New York, he wishes to create work that may reach the lives of those feeling alone in their experiences.  Artist of many mediums, Jax found his love in time based media as both an experimental space to incorporate tactile material, and a conceptual vehicle for symbolic visual memoir.  When he’s not pouring paint over his body for an experimental film, he can usually be found writing poetry, spending time in nature, or pouring paint over his partner’s body for an experimental film.
